This brochure produced by the AIDS legal network in 2012 explains Gender-Based Violence as both a cause and effect of HIV. It was informed by the results of a study conducted in Eatsern Cape, Western Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal. It highlights how high levels of sexual violence intensify women's risks and vulnerabilities to HIV exposure and transmission. Furthermore, a positive status increases women's risks and vulnerabilities to violence, abuse and other human rights violations. It further offers reccommendations for progamming and policy with regards to HIV and Gender-Based Violence.
